Someone pinch me, I am still daydreaming about Alex and Diana's gorgeous wedding day. It started with a romantic and beautiful ceremony at the famous Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes. This might be my most favorite Wedding Chapel of all time because of its massive glass windows that immerse you with nature. Capturing wedding memories at this stunning Chapel is always a fun time because there is really no bad angle here! After a romantic first look, beautiful wedding ceremony, and fun photoshoot at Wayerfarers Chapel, we went over to ALTAR in Long Beach for more wedding festivities. We had fun taking more photos walking around the downtown area and had an unforgettable time at the gorgeous wedding reception at ALTAR.
Wedding Memories Captured on Film
I absolutely love, love, LOVE capturing wedding memories with my film camera. There really is something special about the magic of film photos. I don't think I could ever get tired of the timeless look that film provides. There's just something about film that makes everything look like a 1980's romance movie - and I am ALL FOR IT. Of course, I still love my digital photos - but film photography just hits different. Now, before we dive into this magical wedding, here is a little peek of Alex and Diana's special day on film:
Wedding Ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel
A natural sanctuary and a precious gem of SoCal, Wayfarers Chapel is the perfect mixture of nature and iconic architecture. The famous Wayfarers Chapel is featured in the National Register of Historic Places as well as became a National Historic Landmark in December 2023. This unique and magical chapel is an incredible place to exchange your "I Do's". There really is no bad angle anywhere in this beautiful Chapel!
Romantic First Look Memories
The beauty of Wayfarers Chapel is truly breathtaking. Capturing first look memories is always special because it is the last time the Bride and Groom get to privately interact before they exchange their "I do's" and become one. The calm and natural atmosphere of the venue made for a beautiful and intimate first look with the Bride and Groom. I am loving the love these two have for one another! I am also obsessed with the gorgeous pop of color in the floral designs, they contrast so nicely with everything.
Wedding Ceremony Highlights at Wayfarers Chapel
I am always in awe with the natural beauty of this incredible chapel. The way you're able to see all of the surrounding nature around and above the chapel makes it such a dream. There really is something magic about this chapel. Witnessing Alex and Diana get married here was an honor.
That "Just Married" Feeling
Those moments right after the ceremony are so much fun to capture! Seeing the pure joy and excitement from the newly weds and their loved ones is priceless. PRO TIP: Kiss your partner one more time when you get down to aisle! The more kisses the better!
Romantic Bride and Groom Portraits
After a romantic ceremony, we had to capture some romantic photos of the newly weds. These two have such a special love. It was so much fun capturing their undeniable chemistry. I don't think I can pick a favorite photo because I love them all so much!
Wedding Party Photoshoot
A wedding with the love and support of your friends and family is what makes this big day even more special. Alex and Diana's loved ones were filled with just as much joy as the newly weds. Their upbeat energy made for a memorable photoshoot.
THE Wedding Group Photo
Worried you won't be able to get everyone you love into one photo? No need to fear, I got you! I am highly trained and experienced in the art of gathering and capturing big groups of people into one beautiful photo! I love how this group photo in front of the Wayfarers Chapel turned out.
Pre-Wedding Reception Festivities
I am so in love with how cool and candid Alex and Diana's photos turned out as we explored Long Beach's downtown area. I especially love how the middle cross-walking photo came out! It's giving Beatles Abbey Road album cover vibes and I am all for it. The sunglasses a a great touch!
Wedding Squad Goals
I mean come on... How are they this cool? I love a good serious photo and they were all masters at the straight face pose.

The Wedding Reception at ALTAR in Long Beach
Fun fact: ALTAR was built in 1903 and is the oldest standing building located in the center of Downtown Long Beach. This historic building is perfect for customizing your wedding to fit what you envision. I love how many vintage details of the remodeled temple have been nicely preserved. More specifically, the arched painted ceilings, light fixtures and sturdy columns are some of this space's great details. The exposed bricks, original hard wood flooring, high ceilings, and visible piping also give this venue an industrial loft aesthetic.
It is no wonder why Alex and Diana were overflowed with joy when they first saw their wedding reception of their dreams come to life. PRO TIP Make sure to plan for extra time for the newly weds to enjoy the empty and decorated reception hall before the wedding guests enter the area. It is a beautiful and intimate moment for the newly weds to take in their celebration before it all begins. And of course, you have to capture images of them on the dance floor with their beautiful and empty reception space.
The Dreamiest Wedding Reception Decor
Wow just wow. This wedding reception hall felt so warm and romantic. The perfect place to celebrate Alex and Diana's love! All of the vibrant colors and gorgeous floral designs look fantastic. It was beautiful seeing how happy it made Alex and Diana to see their dream wedding reception come to life.
Grand Entrance + Newly Weds First Dance
Alex and Diana made a fun and memorable grand entrance that went smoothly into their first dance as husband and wife.
Last, but Not Least...CAKE
Alex and Diana shared the cutest little heart shaped cake. I love how simple and small this wedding cake was! It also looked really delicious. Not to mention, they look adorable together as they cut the cake and cheers together. What a lovely way to end a lovely wedding celebration!
